The Yankees lost again tonight. And the offense looked worse than anemic, it looked like the Republican PR machine during the last Presidential election.
Of course, the defense looked more porous than my wife’s humus rocks. Giving up runs like they were doing a charity dance. Now, it would be easy to say that I warned you. It would be easy to say that I said, A-Rod’s home run chase would become a distraction because, well I did say that.
You can’t say you weren’t warned.
The truth is that I don’t think A-Rod’s chase has anything to do with this latest swoon. I think it may be part of it. The whole last two weeks may be part of it. Gobbling up has been stars that may or may not actually make us better. The primary elections. The dirt looking a shade darker. My wife’s new Blackberry beeping incessantly–OK, I was just checking to make sure you’re still awake on that one.
But seriously, when did the Indians become a part of the Farm system for the rest of the league? Oops, that’s a different post.
The Yankees typically have a little dip in wins this time of year. I hope that is all that these last five games have been. The beautiful thing about baseball is that momentum is only as good as your next start.
Here’s to our next start.
