9 Reasons…

9 Reasons the Yankees should repeat this year.

  1. Pitching: With Joba moving every day more and more to the bullpen, we should have a decided advantage in pitching. If Andy can keep healthy and Burnett looks like he did last year. If CC doesn’t look like he has in Spring Training. I know that’s a lot of “if’s” but this should be a strength. From Starters to MO, we look pretty good in this department.
  2. Hitting: We have a lot of strong bats again. How will Grandy do?
  3. Defense: Our defense is vastly improved from last year in the outfield.. Granderson isĀ  a considerable upgrade from whoever we would put out in CF last year, which means we can also improve in the corners (LF at least). Let’s be honest, our defense was pretty good last year.
  4. A-Rod is Free: A-rod could have a monster year with the perceived “clutch” monkey off of his back.
  5. Jorge: This is the real key. If he has a good year, we’ll be almost unstoppable on offense. If he doesn’t…well that could be a bad distraction
  6. Bench Strength: We’ll have a decent bench to trot out situation by situation.
  7. Cano moved to the middle: Robbie should solidify himself as a middle of the line-up guy.
  8. Yankee Stadium: This team is built perfectly for this stadium. We’re not going to steal a lot of bases, but we will score a ton of runs.
  9. The X factor: If left field doesn’t work out we have more catchers than a Dominican baseball academy. We should be able to trade for someone. Maybe get a Scott Brosius type player. Last year’s team was loose, they had good chemistry. This year’s team should have more of the same.
