9 Reasons…The Yankees May Not Repeat

9 Reasons the Yankees may not repeat this year:

  1. Pitching: If Andy gets hurt, the bullpen falls apart or Mo has a Joe Nathan moment this could all fall apart fairly fast.
  2. A-rod becomes A-Fraud: I’m not sure how I feel about A-rod’s long term place in Yankee history or if he will go down as a victim or a victor but in the back of my mind I keep wondering if he’s going to have an implosion year.
  3. Chemistry gone bad: I wonder what all the changes will do to the team chemistry. Of course, I imagine that Grandy will bring great chemistry this year, but what about Randy Winn? What about all the little changes?
  4. Left Field: How is this position going to hold up? Will it be position by committee or will someone become the established everyday player?
  5. Jete’s legs: Will Jete’s legs catch up with him this year and cause him to not be able to be the SS we all know him to be?
  6. Grumpy Girardi: Which Joe Girardi will we get? The one from last year who was relaxed and calm or the the more dialed up and tense one from two years ago?
  7. Slow Start Tex: If Tex has a slow April (which he’s been known to do occassionally) will the Yankees fall into a hole they can’t dig out of?
  8. Pressurized Granderson: Can Grandy play in NY? Can he handle the media. Baseball is full of players that were All-Stars for other teams but wilted like funeral flowers in the harsh NY spotlight.
  9. Injuries: The bottom line is that you need players to win. If the team has a rash of Met like injuries I could see it hampering them.

Let’s be honest, I don’t think any of these will happen. :)
