I know I’ve been hammering Cashman all year and tonight’s not going to be any different. We lost this series and I know that there are injuries, but I blame Cashman. You know who made the last out of the game?
Curtis Granderson, he of the .250 batting average.
Guess who moved to the pen this week?
Javier Vazquez.
You remember him. I was killing the trade to get him two months ago and what was I told? I was told that it was way too early to judge that trade. What did we get out of that trade? Nothing.
I’m not too proud to say, “Well, I was right” or “I told you so.”
Nothing of any value whatsoever was received in that trade.
Are we really better without Johnny Damon? The plain answer is no. Would you rather have Damon up in the 9th as the go ahead run with two outs or Granderson? I’ll take Damon. Granderson is a nice guy I’m sure and this is not a value judgment on him, it is a value judgment on Cashman’s offseason.
It smelled as badly as three day old milk that was stuck in a car.
Fortunately, the Rays lost too. The Yankees may win the East. In fact, they probably will. But I don’t think this team as it currently stands has what it needs to win a World Series. The parts were there, but Cash dealt them away.
Maybe it’s time we deal him away.
