Every Yankee Flaw Being Exposed
The Yankees have a powerful roster.
The Yankees can score a ton of runs.
They have multiple H.O.F. future inductees on their roster. Beyond that, they have a lot of players that will go down in history as really good players if not Hall members. They are close to the best record in baseball and have held that position at various points throughout the year. The worst thing that can happen to them is that they will have to play a play-off game to get into the playoffs–if they lose every game for the rest of the season. How likely is that to happen? It would seem nigh onto impossible.

Yanks Clinch No Worst Than Wild Card Tie
The Yankees win an exciting game to watch tonight! Seriously, I refused to move from the kitchen seat into the living room because I didn’t want to mess up the rally. What a game. Mo blows a save. Joba actually pitches well and the hitting comes through.
Tonight was a fun night to be a Yankee fan and to watch the game.

Beat Down in the Bronx.
The Red Sox are hammering the Yankees. It’s a beating like you stole something kind of game.
This follows the last two games of the Rays series fiasco. Watching them is almost painful. Tonight I admit I am flipping between the game and a chick flick with my wife. This team just has too many holes. Oh, how I wish they were not.
I wish and hope that they were actually the team that I want them to be. Maybe CC is just in a late season swoon and no big deal. Maybe they won’t actually need four pitchers for the post-season. Maybe, Jeter, Tex and half the pitching staff isn’t hurt.

Yanks win 8 out of 10
The Yankees have won 8 out of 10.
Of course, they’ve also lost two straight. I know that some of you think I’m some sort of Donald downer but you have to admit that if the playoffs started tomorrow you would be as nervous as a Freshman on his first date.
I admit I was afraid to post any blog posts during the streak because I didn’t want to jinx it. I admit that I was and am hopeful. I also admit that in the middle of that hopefulness is cold hard fear and trepidation.
9 Random Thoughts While Watching the Yankees are up 77-35
- I think the whole Congress/Media/Roger Clemens steroids thing is disgusting. The media is full of self-loathing hypocrites that made a bunch of money off of the steroid era and are certainly partially responsible to blame for it but now have crawled up onto their self righteous horses made of wax paper. Roger is probably guilty but is this really something congress needs to worry about? How many people died in the Middle East today? How many people are living in the streets of America? How many people don’t have a job tonight and are in danger of losing their home? Too many and what is congress worried about?
Flipping Roger Clemens and making an example of him. I hope everyone on that committee loses their next re-election bids. What happens when they lie? Nothing. Remember Ole Bill Clinton? This whole thing is just stupid.
The Yankees are rolling but…
The Yankees are rolling tonight and as I’m writing this it would seem that they are going to win easily. But hear me out…
It seems to me that this team has a bad pattern; namely it wins when it scores a lot or runs.
Right now they are hitting everything that moves and driving it far. Joba’s throwing 95+, CC is going to get the win stopping yet another Yankee losing streak of 2 or more in a row.
But…
Tex left the game with a bruised thumb.
CC gave up 5 runs tonight.

The Yanks lose 2 of 3 and I blame Cashman
I know I’ve been hammering Cashman all year and tonight’s not going to be any different. We lost this series and I know that there are injuries, but I blame Cashman. You know who made the last out of the game?
Curtis Granderson, he of the .250 batting average.
Guess who moved to the pen this week?
Javier Vazquez.
You remember him. I was killing the trade to get him two months ago and what was I told? I was told that it was way too early to judge that trade. What did we get out of that trade? Nothing.
I’m not too proud to say, “Well, I was right” or “I told you so.”

The Tigers never lose…
I cheer for the Yankees. After that I just have teams that I like to see lose and I organize them in that order based on who I would rather see lose more. So, I don’t cheer for the Red Sox ever except for when they are playing the Rays this season because every time the Rays lose is a good thing.
One team that I hardly ever cheer for except for when they are playing the Rays or the Red Sux is the Tigers.

Dear Bud Selig, An Open Letter #3 on how to fix the MLB: Recruit Men Like Mark Cuban
Dear Bud,
This letter continues my thoughts for you on how we can save the MLB. I realized how timely these letters are this weekend. Think about how good things are going right now for baseball.
With the exception of the AL West all of the races are tight. The AL east is an absolute heavy weight fight. The Central is interesting and the whole NL has compelling story lines
and
yet
people aren’t watching. That’s annoying. It made me think that maybe we don’t need to fix baseball but we might need to tweak the MLb a little bit more, which of course, is what these letters are about. To this point we’ve covered two fairly simple possibilities:

9 Things I Thought About While The Yankees Lost 21-7.
- Yankees lose 21-7. Of course, they didn’t actually lose that badly. They only lost 3-1 but the game went over three hours and I get sick of people telling me how low the scoring is. Of course, it’s the same amount of scores.
- The Yankees just look dog tired. The bats are so cold that I think they could chill the beverages. They just look slow and tired.
